How do I restore a cPanel backup?
This article assumes that you have backed up with cPanel.
Steps
Step 1. Log in to cPanel.
Step 2. Under 'Files', click 'Backup Wizard'.
Step 3. Choose the type of backup you want to restore. You have the following choices:
- Base directory. This is a file that contains all of your hosting package contents, including the folder where your website is located.
- MySQL databases. This is a file containing all databases and their content.
- Email forwarders / filters. This is a file with all email forwarders and filters.
Step 4. Select the file and click 'Upload'. Depending on the size of the file, it may take a while.
Step 5. After the upload is complete, the backup will be restored. You do not have to do anything yourself.
